Proper technique is the biggest factor in how long your transfers last. Follow these settings for the best adhesion, sharpest edges, and maximum wash durability.
General Guide
Step By Step
The Full Process.
Every step matters. Don’t skip the pre-press or the final press — those two steps alone account for the majority of peeling complaints we hear from shops.
01
Pre-press
PRE-PRESS YOUR GARMENT
Before placing your transfer, press the bare garment for 3–5 seconds with firm pressure. This removes moisture, wrinkles, and any sizing from the fabric. Skipping this step is the number one cause of poor adhesion and early peeling.

Positioning
POSITION YOUR TRANSFER
Place your transfer ink-side down on the garment exactly where you want it. Make sure all edges are flat and the design is fully within your platen. Use heat tape on uneven surfaces or curved areas to hold it in place.

Heat Press
We Print & Ship Fast
Place a Teflon sheet or parchment paper over your transfer before closing the press. Apply firm, high pressure for the time and temperature appropriate for your fabric. See the settings above — cotton and polyester require different temperatures.

PEEL
HOT PEEL IMMEDIATELY
As soon as you open the press, peel the carrier film immediately while still hot. Start from one corner and peel back slowly at a low angle. Do not wait — letting the film cool before peeling can cause the transfer to lift with the carrier.

FINAL PRESS — DON'T SKIP IT
Place parchment paper or a Teflon sheet directly over the pressed design and repress. This locks in the adhesive, smooths the surface finish, and significantly improves wash durability. It’s the most skipped step and the most impactful one.
